Historic arts and crafts garden restored to be a public park at the heart of a new residential development. Features included rockery and fernery, balustrade overlooking sunken garden and winding footpaths through planting.
An office building built in 2000 lacked attraction to potential new tenants. The landscape design sought to create a new square to the entrance plaza providing opportunities for employees to socialize and lunch while creating a prestigious entrance space to the building for visitors and tenants.
Mr. Happy, Mr. Worry Hill
In 2018, Reed Studio won a landscape competition to design a themed garden at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show for Children with Cancer UK charity. The charity, commemorating its partnership with Mr. Men and Little Miss, wanted a design based on the well-known characters. Reed Studio carefully selected the most recognizable elements of Mr. Men and Little Miss, to design an engaging and emotional garden, while making a big impact for its 30th anniversary in 2018.
The client purchased a large 4-bed Georgian house in need of renovation. The brief was to create a habitable loft room and an extension that unified the kitchen and dining area while accommodating a small snug area to reflect apartment living; all part of a full refurbishment project. Reed Studio provided planning, building regulations and tender pack services.
Nestled on the edge of North York Moors National Park is a place called Golden Grove, a small secluded hamlet close to Whitby. Golden Grove is meandering in layout, replicating the winding Cock Mill Beck adjacent, it has no through route and its main access road has no name. If you are fortunate enough to find yourself in Golden Grove, try travelling right to the end of the road with no name and you will be in for a treat or rather a retreat. Yoga and Spice is a yoga retreat set within a wildlife and tranquil haven perfect for spending downtime in such busy and stressful times. Reed Studio was asked to design a yoga studio and additional sleeping accommodation for yoga goers, which is no mean feat in the North York Moors National Park. However, after carefully negotiating planning and public comments, Reed Studio managed to get the application passed first time.
