Lee has already won 24 prizes with is incredible designs. Today we show you the unique and marvelous Carpetry Sideboard. Inspired by Persian rugs within the British home, Broom says “It has always fascinated me how something so Middle Eastern can also be so British.”
This line of products uses traditional Persian rugs as an application for the exterior of the pieces. This piece gives the customer the illusion of a floating carpet covering its surface, being wrapped around the design. In this intricate design, cupboards and draws open from what appears to be behind the carpet, when closed comes back to the original shape.
The carpet is in a modern color palette that allows introducing a contemporary style to the design. This type of rugs have been a crucial part of any British Home, so when looking closely at the piece you’ll find UK related marks as the Crown Jewels hidden within the pattern. The carpets are 100% wool and are manufactured on traditional Wilton looms, an early 17th Century technique that only exists in a few factories in Britain.
