Space Copenhagen is a design studio based in Copenhagen, founded in 2004 by Peter Bundgaard Rützou and Signe Bindslev Henriksen. Manz is considered one of the leading Danish furniture designers of her generation. In November 2017 she was awarded Designer of the year in the Design Awards by Bo Bedre, Costume Living, Nordic Living and Boligmagasiet in 2018 by Maison et Objet. In 1997, he designed the Runner chair for Peter Staerk who made the chair famous in Denmark, but also abroad. In 1998 Salto opened his own design studio, working for companies such as Fritz Hansen, DubaB8, Engelbrechts and Lightyears. In 2003 he opened a new office, Salto & Sigsgaard, together with architect Thomas Sigsgaard.

Bodil Kjær worked as a senior architect at the Arup building consultancy in London (1967–69), has been a professor at the University of Maryland (1982–89) and has had studios of her own in Copenhagen (1960–65) and in London (1969–79). Her interior design work has included the development of furniture, lighting, and glass for a wide range of buildings from housing in the African tropics to factories, offices and universities. Vilhelm Lauritzen was born in Slagelse, Denmark. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1921. The following year he founded his own firm, Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, in 1928 and remained active in the firm until 1969. He died in 1984, but his amazing firm still lives on to this day and it is hellbent on preserving Lauritzen’s legacy and amazing vision. Some major projects included the national Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR Radio Building (Radiohuset).

#18 – Gesa Hansen

Hansen enhanced her training in Paris working for Jean Nouvel Atelier and H5 but also in Japan at the Nippon Design Center. Following a long family tradition of Danish designers, she founded her design studio in 2009: The Hansen Family. Hansen’s work was exhibited at DesignMai in Berlin (Germany), at 100% Design festival in Seoul (Korea), at Artlab in Brussels (Belgium), at Benetton Group’s Fabrica research centre in Treviso and Bologna (Italy), at Salone del Mobile (Italy), at ICFF in New-York and at Meet My Project in Paris and in Milan. Hansen’s work was awarded by two Red Dot Design Awards and the Good Design Award.

#19 – Carsten Juel-Christiansen

Carsten Juel-Christiansen is an architect and professor of architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. He was appointed to the Committee for Architecture for the Culture Canon in 2005. He has simultaneously served as a practicing architect, from 1976 in his own studio, as well as teaching and research at the Academy of Fine Arts.

#20 – Claus Bjarrum
