Multi-award-winning Australian designer Greg Natale is known for his masterly use of pattern and color, and his bold application of both in creating tailored, curated and sophisticated spaces. Greg has extended his passion for pattern, line and color into other design disciplines, exploring his love of geometric and organic designs through the creation of ranges of rugs, carpet, wallpaper, tiles, furniture and homewares. Since its launch in 2001, Greg Natale Design has brought its expertise in architecture and interior design to the creation of stunning, sophisticated and unforgettable spaces.
Dawes Point House
Luxe finishes, contemporary furniture and a postmodern palette of pink and grey make a powerful impact in the renovation of this four-story, three-bedroom house. Pale pink walls and ceilings create an inviting shell that takes a dramatic turn with a feature wall and ceiling of Porter Teleo wallpaper, which highlights the double-height dining space. Framing and enhancing the space with their attractive brass balustrades are a staircase and first-floor bridge, which links the upstairs bedrooms. Downstairs, a graceful wall of three arches separates the dining room and kitchen, while allowing open flow between the spaces.
Wollstonecraft House
From its elegant blue walls with their white trim to its archways and Art Deco furnishings, this three-story, five-bedroom house is a beautiful fusion of classic style and contemporary living. The Edwardian-era residence underwent a major gutting and reworking, with Greg Natale meticulously recreating original details such as paneled ceilings and doors, and adding French moldings which, although not typical of the era, make a striking feature of the walls. New archways and a relocated staircase provide graceful lines, allowing for better flow between spaces.
Darlinghurst Apartment
Perched high up in Sydney’s iconic Horizon building, designed in the ’80s by the late Australian architect Harry Seidler, Greg Natale’s own apartment is enjoying its third interior redesign. This latest incarnation has evolved around a sumptuous maroon palette that acts as dramatic backdrop to a lovingly curated collection of art, vintage pieces, contemporary and custom-designed furniture and accessories.
Inner West House
A client’s love for the art-deco-inspired contemporary residence led Grega Natale to collaborate on a fresh take on this popular property – this time riffing on a palette of blush pink, grey and light timber floors. Furnished with a mix of Minotti and European vintage pieces, the four-bedroom home is adorned with Greg Natale decorative accessories in marble, ceramic and the warmth of polished brass.
Hunter Hill House
This magnificent 1000-square-meter house is the result of a complete gutting and remodeling by Greg Natale, transforming the thirty-year-old building into a luxe, Art Deco-style modern residence in which marble plays a starring role. The entrance makes the house’s grand statement, with the floor featuring a series of concentric rectangles in white Calacatta and grey custom marble. Its bold lines are echoed in a stepped stucco ceiling and offset by the curves of a grey marble staircase. Marble appears in lavish expanses through various rooms of the house, while paneling on the ceilings, walls and cabinetry adds intricate detail. Soft furnishings in navy velvet bring sophistication to the interiors, highlighted by brass accessories.
Lurline Bay House
This four-story, four-bedroom oceanfront residence is a beach house like no other, and its sophisticated palette, materials and layout have been beautifully tailored to suit its surroundings. Collaborating with an architect to redesign the exterior, Greg Natale worked as an interior designer and interior architect, taking the idea of a coastal pastel palette and giving it an opulent interpretation through high-end finishes and furnishings.
